Weaving the Wellness Arts: An Endless Journey

As I embark on this inaugural blog post, I pause to acknowledge the shoulders upon which I stand—those of our ancestors who pioneered the path of self-discovery. The yearning for learning, love, healing, and growth is a shared thread that weaves through all of nature. It is encoded in the essence of every living being. From this profound intrinsic drive, I’ve birthed the concept of Wellness Arts.

The Art of Self-Discovery

My journey unfolds against the backdrop of psychology, a discipline that has grounded my passion for helping, healing, and service. I’ve been nurtured and evolved through two and a half decades of clinical practice and collaborative work. Yet, the beauty of my journey lies in the fusion of psychology with my other passions: dance, yoga, and art. These four pillars—Psychology, Yoga, Dance, and Creativity—have been my guiding lights.

A Grateful Heart

I’m indebted to my family, friends, and teachers who have illuminated my path. They’ve been my unwavering support, fostering the growth of these Wellness Arts. Together, we’ve created a framework for balanced living where mind, body, and soul converge.

The Vision Unveiled

I aspire to offer an integrated framework of wellness that’s easily incorporated into daily life. These ideas have been simmering within me for years, and now I’m ready to bring them to light to aid others on their healing and growth journey.

A Slow and Beautiful Blossoming

The fruits and blossoms of Wellness Arts will undoubtedly emerge gradually. It’s a journey of patience, understanding, and adaptation. I eagerly anticipate their growth and development. Moreover, I’m enthusiastic about forging connections with kindred spirits, collaborating to unite local communities, and sharing skillsets in pursuit of this dream. It’s not a solo endeavour; it’s an offering we can create together. Reach out, speak up, and join me in this endeavour.

Popi Iatrou is the founder of Wellness Arts. Wellness Arts aims to integrate psychology, yoga, dance and art to empower people to heal, grow and flourish. Popi is a Senior Psychologist, yoga and dance teacher and artist who has worked with vulnerable children, youth and families since 1998 in Sydney, Australia. She works in private practice in the south of Sydney with people of all ages. Her personal and professional experience of weaving traditional psychology and creative practices for personal development is the inspiration behind Wellness Arts and it’s creations.
